On Thursday June 26th (5:00-6:30PM), the Music of My Mind will profile Seun Kuti, the son of legendary Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti. Seun and the Egypt 80 band will be performing as part of jazzfest International in Victoria on Friday June 27th in Victoria. The date will be part of Seun's first North American tour. A recorded interview with the man himself discussing the future of Afrobeat, his band Egypt 80, and his late father will be played on the program as well as a selection of music from Seun's debut album and from his father Fela. This interview will also be featured as part of a future podcast.
